¡¡¡¡Sinochem News Recently, Haru Oni Demonstration Project Factory of Chilean Haili Innovative Fuel Co., Ltd., jointly built by Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. and Luoyang Technology Research and Development Center of Sinopec Refining and Chemical Engineering, produced qualified green synthetic gasoline. Compared with traditional fossil fuels, green synthetic gasoline can reduce carbon emissions by about 90%.

¡¡¡¡The project is an environmental protection project for the Chilean government to implement the hydrogen energy development strategy and promote carbon neutralization innovatively. It is also the first overseas industrial application of the methanol to gasoline technology that China has participated in.

¡¡¡¡The project is located in Punta Arenas on the west bank of Magellan Strait in the south of Chile. It is invested and constructed by Chilean National Petroleum, ExxonMobil and other companies. The project uses local abundant water and wind energy to produce green hydrogen, recover carbon dioxide from the air, synthesize methanol, and then produce green gasoline. The project construction includes wind power generation, hydrogen production by electrolysis of water, carbon dioxide capture, carbon dioxide to methanol, methanol to gasoline and other units.

¡¡¡¡Since March 2021, the consortium formed by Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd. and Luoyang Technology Research and Development Center of Sinopec Refining and Petrochemical Engineering has successively completed the design, procurement, manufacturing integration and other work of four pilot plants such as methanol to gasoline, ensuring that the project produces "green gasoline".
